Jeffrey Bodoff, our director of Landlord and Tenant litigation, has been with the firm for over 25 years and has been recognized as one of the foremost practioners of landlord and tenant litigation in New York City. Jeffrey frequently appears in Supreme and Housing Court, and in the Appellate Courts of New York State.
One notable decision is Jemrock Rlty. v. Krugman, 13 N.Y.3d 924, 895 N.Y.S.2d 284, 922 N.E.2d 870 (2010) where the Court of Appeals held that whether a landlord's expenditures for improvements were at least equal to the amount necessary to bring the legal rent above the luxury decontrol threshold. There was a factual issue to be resolved by the factfinder. He is the author of “Innocent Owner Defense v. Taking Analysis”, New York Law Journal, P.S-1, March 13, 1995. Additionally he is a member of The Association of the Bar of the City of New York. Jeffrey is fluent in English and Hebrew.
